Bud wrote:Thanks Nitch. if you can get a tight flat lamination/good hotcoat & there's really not a whole lot of sanding to do. that's the 'secret' I learned after umpteen disasters. used to be I thought just plenty resin around the bumps & dips and and sand it away later. keep everything tight & flat. it's really no biggie especially for a simple channel with rounded edges like this one. hardest part for me still is hitting weave at points where cloth overlaps. for rookie like me helps to add just a little extra hotcoat basting around leash plug, bottom lap and nose folds for some breathing room

I thought the hardest part for you was the actual surfing part, hah. but all joking aside, the hardest part for me, is watching you surf. hahahahahahahahaha. :D :) :( :o  :? 8) :x :P       :!: :?:   :| !-! b+b i+i

Next up, shaped myself a new twin a couple of days ago. not liking being without a back up of my daily driver. also working toward optimum strength/weight on fin installs. these giant twin fins I'm using really do a number on the bottom lamination. the LokBox fin boxes are holding up great but I've had to go back and reinforce most of my previous football patches. this time I may look at 6oz patches, and/or increasing the size. at some point maybe have to just glass these buggers on

note the custom made fins by http://www.torressurf.com, highly recommended, I emailed him my template and 2 weeks later I had these beautiful fins with LokBox tabs. paulownia with bamboo stringers down through the base, carbon fiber patch + epoxy + s-glassed. fantastic tip flex & incredibly light, each fin weighs only 2.5oz!

board looks good enough for me to ride. your logo placement on the other hand is kinda off.

waves haven't been all time but it is better than when you were around. maybe you should extend your mission/vacation and remodel showers up there!
