friday night I went full moon surfing! Prob one of the greatest experiences ever! I even stepped on sea urchins and it barely bothered my natural high. What an amazing experience! Glad we avoided disaster today with the tsunami as well...

Waited about 40 mins after the first wave started to hit and then said f'k it and paddled out to croms. It was really weird out there for a while. It was like high tide, low tide, high tide, etc. Lots of strange waves coming sideways, bizarre currents, and what seemed like whitecaps only without the whitecaps. Started to clean up and some peeps came out but by then I was so tired. Gonna take a power nap now. Wake me up for the next disaster.
A special kind of specialness!

I really wanted to go out after the all clear had been sounded, but the Mrs. was having none of it. I knew better than to push and quietly muttered my discontent into my sleeve.
Woke up this morning to a raging wind. Easy 25-30 mph but straight off-shore, head high and no one out. I had to give it a try. The channel was a rapid, and once out it was a non-stop hard paddle into an impossible wind. Managed to get about 3 fun ones, but way too much work. With the gray sky and monster wind, felt more like an adventure than a surf...

searched out west yesterday (03/02/10) with the straight north angle. thought it was going to be bigger, but a lot of spots were too small. 3rds was crap, downside was flat, so we checked a spot in between and got it pretty damn good with not one person out all session. gotta love these winds...

Some beautiful waves but shifting all over the place and since I lack any wave judgement I was always in the wrong place. I had a few uneventful ones from the middle or end but then sat on the main peak for a hour with no luck. Highlight of the session was when I had a moment of indecision between pulling in and going around a meaty section , I went with option C: Taking the lip squarely between the shoulder blades.

stoked to paddle out with Kelly last week, been a while. we got well overhead pastures all to ourselves, probably 1.5xoh+. windy, the waves were all over the place, it was very punchy and a pretty strong current pulling toward simih. not many waves lining up very difficult to be in the right spot but there were some nuggets. watched kelly late drop into a beaut and almost squeak under the lip, only to get clipped and crushed. If I even managed to get to my feet, standup>faceplant>ragdoll was my specialty this day. it took me 4 waves and almost an hour before I even finished a bottom turn>topturn. overall a forgetable session for me. shoulda listened to Kelly & took a paddle out to the left instead. /@*@\
