Quiver selection for Mentawais

Postby bagus » Fri Aug 15, 2008 7:32 pm

Hey you all.. got a question for the group. What boards would you bring on a 10 day boat trip to the Mentawais? I am leaving in two weeks and sort of stumped. Here are my selections:

1) 8'6" pintail longboard (for those smaller days.. yeh right)
2) 6'6" Black Beauty
3) 6'3" Magic Chef (Patterson TL2)
4) 6'3" Flyer II (Epoxy)
4) 6'10" MSG

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

6 3
6 6
6 10

the idea of the mentawais is to get the cleanest deepest barrels of your life.
if your lucky to get a good swell.
the pigs and fish and longboards should stay at home.
the waves are fast and reef is sharp, bring booties and wetsuit
the pros and photos ,make it look easy.
but id check the forecast the day before you leave to make the final decision.

get the movie campaign 2 and watch the bruce irons section over and over and over about 100 times.
