I like checking the buoys here, it gives more info but it only updates the Waimea buoy once an hour and watch out for the pop-ups.

I also check JB's site for a surf report.

Here's another wind model:

Claudia Ferrari's site is great for seeing what surf you missed. She posts a surf report of what the surf was like that day with a few photos and her archives go back a couple of years.

I guess you left the Surfline forecast off because it's a pay site.

I love Wetsand.com
I'm actually using Pat Caldwell's compass map of Oahu for my next article on wind.

bud just wanted to put my two cent worth in here.
i think that the site you have links to are exactly what most surfers need in order to get the neccessay information. but, as i'm noticing there reallly isn't such a thing as too much info for surf internet resources and eveerybody wants everything they can get.
pat's forecast is it and the standard .
neals wet sand site is a great one i just checked that one out. (how 'bout a link neal?)
storm surf brought up by kelly is another great one for the buoy forecast.
there are a some more sites out there that i'll post some links to later. as it is i have had a hard time getting around to write on this column and once again i'm out of time.
every time i do a detailed report on my site i usually takes no less than 2hrs of research and if i miss a day on the charts than i have to backtrack. i've always wondered how long it takes pat to do a forecast. with research and writing time the process is 3hrs. but, as i said i've got some more sites you might be interested in and i'll post probably tomorrow or most likely sunday. by the way http://www.buoyweather.com is where i get 90% of my resource information. it is a pay site, but so worth it...anybody who's serious about weather conditions and surf should be on this site.

Not sure I understand what you're trying to tell me, mega. You think I should dump the links topic?

funny thing....looking back and reading it i'm not sure what i was trying to say either. sorry i had been writing for about three hours and was under the gun to get somewhere. no way should you dump the links. i think the ones you have are great and i'm pretty sure my point was that there are so many surf related sites and links that you'd never be able to satisfy everybody. so i'd simply go for the ones some of us recommend and some of the ones you dig and call it good.

Agreed .... and exactly my aim - i.e., basically what I consider the best links for an armchair Qback like me. Have never taken the time to learn the real knowledge but over the years you kinda grow accustomed to certain webcasts and colorful animations etc. and after a while get a 'feel' for what's a good call or not.
Btw mega, did you see this topic posted last week, someone looking for you - http://www.808surfer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=252
honestly I can't remember, its been there so long.....I guess you're claiming it?? if so then I can't argue, I really don't know....? I have soo many pics on my pc.
but I've never visited your website and if it is yours then its up by accident soo I'll take it off and put another, I'm sorry if I offended you. I really don't condone the use of copyrighted material aloha
