NALU UNDERGROUND MAGAZINE

Postby HMARK » Tue Sep 28, 2004 5:54 pm

Just back from da store saw this new surf mag out- Nalu Underground.

Look see only fast kine - but I think it is produced on Kaua'i ( Neo? any info? )...Nice homegrown look to it and glossy pix. Seems a bit better than a few of 'em out there. Meebe a good issue to keep? (Volume 1 No.`1)

Any how, back to the poke & news.

Saw the mag at Daiei. Nice glossy pages, but poor quality pics. I vaguely remember Mike Smith, but it's been a long time. Was that a tow in shot of Kalihi Wai?

Hell, I may be a retarted friggin asshole, but i kinda thought it was cool for someone to take a chance and put out a product for locals(?) Seemed to be kinda casual on da ads like dat - but hey if you dont like mags - - - dont read or look at 'em.

I just happen to think they did a fine job for issue 1 #1 ...

Fuck me for being coherent....

I like the local free mags or I go to Borders and check out the 20$ mags.
The 20 $ mags like surfers journal or surferspath or Waves they got some great stories about people going on crazy trips or a bio on some living legend and photos that just blow the doors off Surfer and Surfing MAg. those are just MTV/Pop rags. All about the kiddies and fly aways. Same shit diferent month. I check'd the Nalu Mag very rootsy, kinda sloppy, couple of heavy shots.
DOn't forget your ROOTS!
