Cam for Surfing Pics?

Postby sloan » Thu Jul 22, 2004 7:03 am

Sony DSC-P150
7 Megapixel, can fit in the pocket <$500

"With the optional Cyber-shot Marine Pack (MPK-PHB), the Cyber-shot P150 can become an underwater camera with water resistance to a depth of up to 132 feet, with the option of using telephoto lenses."

I wonder how bulky that housing is - I'm sure it would preclude you from really surfing with it, even though the camera itself looks pretty small. 7 megapixels with a telephoto, though, you could just sit in the channel and get those close up barrel shots of you buddy... :)

My friend has this Sony cam and it's pretty sweet. I took pics of him pushing his kid in some tiny waves. Pics came out pretty good. I was diving under the water with no leaks after. Not sure about the winter poundings though.

That cam was on sale and sold out. Scored some solid waves for 3days straight then it went pretty flat. Had a lot of fun drunken nights though. Let's go surf. I'll be working 0545-1345 m-f for a while.
