Yes. Baja about three times. Better trip for the boys unless the little lady REALLY likes desert camping. Pretty much all you need is a big bag of rice, some spices and some fishing weapons.

Oh yes...and lots of Pacifico/Tecate.

Down south once you get past Abriojos the water warms right up. That's the best summer destination. In the winter the points of La Fronteira are firing but the water can be quite chilly.

Besides Northern Baja a bunch of times, I did make it down to Punta Abriojos once. Stayed for a week. Surfed a point like right like Lanis, then a shelf like Backdoor and a beachbreak like Pupes all in a one mile radius.

Ate fish every night, we didn't catch anything, but we bought from the local fisherman for dirt cheap or traded for boardshorts/stickers/shirts. Also lived off of water/powerbars/cans of dinty moore beef stew.

You don't need a 4X4 either. Just a 12 hour drive south of the border.

Camping wasnt' too bad, but middle of the day was like 100+ degrees. HOT!!!!

This tall haole dude by the name of Carlos lived on the point and said he surfs it solo all the time. He spends six months in Utah as a ski instructor and goes by the name of Carl. Then heads down to Mex for the other six months and becomes "Carlos". ahahahhaha.

Just don't pick the lobsters or they'll throw you in jail.
