we had some really good waves here in rhode island yesterday. i don't have any shots of people riding, but you can get an idea of the size from these. not super high-quality, but.... surfed for two hours at the first spot pictured and two hours at the second. i'm surf sated....for now!

I've been visiting my friends in Brooklyn, New York a couple of times per month, beginning in August 2009. I'm lucky enough to have a buddy with a "surf shack" two houses in from Rockaway Beach in Queens, so I can take the A train out every time there's waves and I happen to be in town. I don't even have to lug my boards down -- he has 50 of them in the shack because it's share by 15 people.

These photos are from various sessions, and i'll be adding more when conditions are decent. Small but fun!

here are a few more from rockaway beach, new york city. i just moved here to look for work, so unfortunately i won't have as many shots from rhode island and other new england locales. i'll still be surfing up there, just not as often. i should have photos from friends though, when i don't.

these are low quality, from december 2009. i just haven't had time to post them yet.

more from rockaway beach new york city, december 2009. i'll also be added more from here when they're decent. i can take the a train to the beach with my board. takes about 40 minutes. i'll change on the beach, even in winter, when i can't used my friend's "surf shack" two housed away from the water. brrrrrrrrrr!

Hey JC! Yeah, I "know" Bud going back to around 1995 on alt.surfing. I joined here a few years ago so I could keep seeing his pix (and the others here), and started posting a few of mine to the Oahu forum but was reminded that it's for Oahu reports only. So Bud and a couple of other suggested starting a New England photo thread, and here it is!

Even though it's primarily New England, I'm adding NYC pix as well since I'm here for now. I'll also be posting New England pix from when I get up there.

Here are shots from 3/31. This is the first set of surf photos I've taken with my new Fuji S1500 camera with 12X optical zoom and 10 megapixels. The quality of my photos will be much better from here on!
